Academic Writing Fundamentals: Parts Of A Research Paper

A research paper is generally considered to be a relatively in-depth essay that students might have to write at some point. Ultimately, this form of academic writing can be used in conjunction with a wide range of different subjects, such as biology, chemistry, physics and other scientific subjects, as well as geography, history, arts, or just about any other subject that you can think of.

It is worth noting, however, that a research paper will be composed of a variety of different sections, and the sections that you will need to include in your paper can depend in many ways on the subject that you are writing about. For example, if you are writing the paper for a scientific subject, then it might be that you need to carry out various experiments as part of your work. Early sections

As part of your introduction and opening to your paper, you might include an abstract, which would normally be at the very front of your paper. You may also need a proposal or an outline section.

Middle sections

As mentioned, your body section will be in the middle of your paper, and can comprise of a wide range of different subsections, such as the results section, the analysis section, the methodology, and a wide range of sections.

Ultimately, the middle of your paper will be used for the main details, including any important points that you wish to raise, or any arguments that you wish to make.

The end sections of your paper

As well as a conclusion, you might also need to include a variety of other sections towards the end of your paper, these might include a bibliography, an acknowledgment section, an appendix, and any other sections that would not be included in the body section.
